About The Artwork

I have recently made a series of small paintings which are diptychs. They vary from being a definable situation with figures against a wall or in some cases, like this painting two canvases creating a narrative by bring together disparate images. The horse in the painting is the same image used in one of the smaller paintings. I have been experimenting with re-using the same images in different contexts. Paintings are unique unlike photographs or prints or indeed music or the movies which can be reproduced millions of times over. By using the same image in different paintings, I am undermining the preciousness of each image.
