“The lover’s love is visible but love depends not on outward form or face.” ~ RUMI As with any transformation, there comes a point where you begin to feel comfortable in the newness. At multiple points during my life I’ve been told ‘how to be’, ‘how to act’, ‘how to talk’, etc – I think several of you will be able to relate to some of those statements. Rarely have I experienced an acceptance of the totality of who I really am, because I actually was the one that didn’t know who I really was/am. (how could I ask for something to be given externally when it was within my own power to give to myself internally?) This sobering curve ball landed me at the doorstep of Pause In Joy and Patti Penn, my radiant Reiki Master. Growing up in a healer’s home, studying to become a doctor in psychology and then now, becoming an artist and energy healer has been a lifetime of learning so many ways to heal. I paused for a moment to contemplate all the different modalities out there for healing and due to the vast array of options it is widely apparent that we all share the same goal in life – to heal. As with any transformation, there comes a point where you begin to feel comfortable in the newness. At the core of my art, it is abstract in order to allow for each individual to feel something unique unto themselves that, hopefully, inspires healing. To me, art is beautiful and in beauty there is healing. We feel in beauty, we feel with art and in the feeling comes joy, happiness, love – healing. On June 5, 2012, Venus is making a rare transit across our Sun. It is an amazing opportunity to embrace beauty, healing, love, creativity and femininity. Venus is the planet of love. We need creative solutions, feminine guidance (whenever I am upset I always want to call my mother and I adored the nurturing that my grandmother gave) and love in order to heal. Venus represents the heart and the feminine side of our being. The Sun represents our individuality and the masculine side of our being. Venus aligning with the Sun is symbolic of our Feminine and Masculine energies coming into unity and balance. Venus eclipsing the Sun symbolizes our need to consider the feminine expression first, before the masculine, and to allow the feminine energies to guide and balance masculine expression. However, for there to be balance in the external, one must find balance internally. A sacred union within oneself, the ‘perfect’ relationship that you seek is actually the one within yourself. A Marriage Within represents the path which I am traveling to find this harmony with my own self. I recently went to my first Puja, it was an amazing experience. We honored Shakti and the Divine Feminine energy, and as with all my work it is all based upon energy. I woke up enlivened with so much love and creativity and made A Marriage Within. Healing at the core level is bringing such profound peace into my heart to have the courage to let go of all the baggage from the past that had a perceived weight on me in the present. Whether or not you believe in planetary effects and whichever faith/religion you gravitate towards, I am so grateful for being here and able to create and share the beauty that I feel with you.
