This painting was created on January 1st 2023. Collector may choose between a white, black and natural wood frame. Every day I wake up before sunrise to be able to experience this magical moment and create a compelling collection full of stillness and fullness. My color coded experiences are a testimony to our perception of the fleeting nature of the present (what she calls “the void”). The essence of my work captures the everyday beauty around us, and how everything is in consistent motion even as we inhabit the moment we call now. The desert sunrises are perpetuated in my painting as they transform into intangible color gradients with each passing minute. My painting practice involves deep meditation and the meticulous training of the eyes to observe these ever-changing colors, thus creating a color-coded sky fingerprint.

Colombian Artist based in California. My work is inspired by the constant change we perceive with the passing of time. Most people approach art as a tool for personal expression, so the artist can share their perspective, vision or opinion about any given subject. I believe, art is not an outlet for us artists to “create” an opinion. Instead I think about it as a way of understanding what’s around us and making sense of it. Just like musicians make up melodies and lyrics that relate to their experiences to generate a deeper understanding of how they are processing that experience, or like dogs understand their surroundings through smell, I believe the artist understands the world by observing, feeling, and by perpetuating that feeling through painting or drawing or other technique. It is a very intimate and personal process that allows us artists to get to know ourselves so much better.
