The full Title of the work is "blinded by the sudden noise of darkness, he could no longer distinguish the meaning of things" I have always been attracted to monochromatic works and how, even with just one color, it's possible to achieve visual effects, such as in black-on-black works or in Alberto Burri's crettos. Recently, however, I've become interested in the exact opposite, that is, how black can absorb everything, hiding it from view but bringing things back to their primary essence. I then discovered the availability of two acrylic colors on the market, Stuart Sample's Black 3.0 and Musou Black, which allow for previously unimaginable black effects for me. This work consists of two paper cones applied inside a 6cm deep box frame and painted with Black 3.0, which makes them practically invisible. The two cones can only be seen through their shadow on the passepartout of the frame or by looking at the work from the side.
