About The Artwork
Is a singular bowling's game, combined with a soundtrack that needs no explanation "I don't care about world" (che m'importa del mondo -1964 - by the italian singer Rita Pavone). Formal elements used by Scalas characterize strikingly his linguistic choices based on the low profile of constructive, more or less explicit connections between the elements. An idiomatic phrase is embodied in an installation, trigger narrative mechanisms: the viewer can do strike, munch on crunchy tarallucci indifferent to the consequences of their actions on the community, reducing the complexity of the contemporary world "to tarallucci e vino" translated as "in the Italian way". text Annarita Chiocca

He began his self-taught research towards the end of the 1980s. After an experience that led him to the United Kingdom for a few years, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari (Italy) with a thesis entitled "White on white between East and West". The meetings with people of the caliber of Marco Brandizzi, who will be the supervisor for his thesis, were crucial. The nomadism of languages characterizes his work; alongside artistic research the profession of designer and teacher of Art and Image at the state school. Already in the early nineties he realizes public art interventions, he is interested in research theater, music and graphics. Between 2009 and 2011 he curates the exhibition space “Il Buco - Artbox”. Lives and works in Sassari.
