About The Artwork
For many years in my artistic journey, I have been focused on creating drawings with pen and ink, markers, and conte crayon. Black and white images have always fascinated me, as well as illustrations having studied the Art Nouveau works of A. Beardsley. In this particular artwork I am concentrating on line and design to build my composition. I have also written poetry professionally, and had the opportunity while living in The Netherlands to publish a book of some eighteen poem called “The Cost of Life is Heavy in New York’, combination of my poems and drawings. This black and white drawing here is juxtaposed and accentuated with one of my poems that deals with the theme of relationships, the initial birth of romance between 2 people and unfortunately the painful predicament and final scenario when that relationship looses its lackluster and tends to fade and turns into an emotional imprint or memory.
