A triptych of drawings from a series of black and white ink drawings on ancient paper. As an experiment, I used sheets of old drawing paper that was dry and slightly yellow with age, which gave it a unique antique looks. The thin sheets of paper look as light and fragile as their subject, I used only slight thin traces of ink to convey her emotions. The three portraits were all made in the same movement and although they are on separate sheets of paper, I don't want them to be separated. Each drawing measures 40 x 29 cm, and they could be displayed in a single frame or in separate frames next to each other.

The painting as an act of understanding, as search for fulfillment. Emotions and anxieties, as well as pleasures, the sense of finiteness as well as the enjoyment of moments of eternity when the stream of life flows smoothly, these are the real sources from which Frederic Belaubre draws to create; constantly renewed attempts of transfiguration of reality into one beyond the light. Frederic Belaubre works and exposes in his Parisian workshop at the foot of Montmartre.
