The title for this ink on Japanese paper drawing, Thin Places, derives from the places in our world where one can imagine the world touches the heavens. A Northern New Mexico city, Taos is such a place and inspired this art. As an artist-traveler with much curiosity about the world I am exposed to unfamiliar places that challenge my perceptions, expand my ideas and ultimately inform my life and my work. I participate in artist residencies all over the world. Places that have snow, ice, rain, rivers, foliage, big skies and oceans—scenic beauty that is sometimes dramatic, sometimes soft as cashmere fascinate me and reflect in my work.
