The first year I lived in Santa Teresita, the little plane only flew over the beach in summer. That piercingly nasal voice on the loudspeaker screamed at the tourists "2 kilos of Asado, 19.99" available at "Frigorifico Mattias". The next year the plane flew over the town as well. The voice invaded my house, alerting me of the price of meat, where to buy pizza, and the opening hours of the fish monger. Summer came and went but the airplane didn't go away. Every day, twice a day, it did the rounds: ten laps in the morning, ten in the evening. I, furious, would raise my arms in the shape of a rifle, following the despised grey shape until I was sure I had it in my sights and then fire my imaginary bullets to knock it out of the sky. It never fell, it always came back, and the only consolation left to me was to paint the little plane plunging into the depths of a bottomless pit of fire. All works in Series RP incorporate a mix of high quality traditional media, including gesso, sumi ink, pigment-based india inks, acrylic and watercolor paints, and graphite on heavy weight Xuan rice paper. Each work is signed on the front with my initials, and on the back with my initials, last name, date completed, and the series number. This work ships flat, protected with glassine, foam core, plastic, and bubble wrap in a 16 x 20 x 4 inch cardboard box.

My works are a constant outpouring of singular impressions: clearly isolated images that capture flashes of emotion, changes in perception, or moments of recognition. I give fleeting thoughts as much consideration as monumental ideas: nothing is more important than anything else and every small thing has its place.
