This piece was made on the exact day which the lekki shooting at the tollgate took place. It was made in red because it was a tragic day all around Nigeria. On that particular day, I was on a bus to Lagos of which I started the journey in the morning. Because of the riot, I spent two days on the road, and had to divert to Ibadan and stay there for a week until I moved to Lagos. This particular scene in this piece was at Benin, I tried to capture this moment when I was stuck on the road. This was were the hoodlums almost seized my digital camera. I took a lot of pictures that day, but I decided to take out only two most important ones into Drawing. They were the ones that really had impact on me.
