Happy Drawing

Born 31st of oct. 1963 in Amsterdam. My father, who was a painter as well, gave me my first lessons. I studied 5 years at the Ruudt Wackers Academy in Amsterdam. I've participated in group exhibitions in Jan van der Togtmuseum in Amstelveen, museum GEM in The Hague and Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. My work is a way of coping with life. I record the world around me constantly, either by drawing sketches or by using my camera. In my studio the images are filtered and altered and somehow made into paintings or drawings. I experimented a lot with black and white paint and I still find that very interesting. Diminishing the range of colors leads to exposing the essence of things.
