Silverpoint drawing on oak gesso panel. Can be tray framed or box framed. Silverpoint means to draw with a silver wire, old masters used silverpoint and metalpoint to draw with before graphite had been discovered. When the pure silver wire is drawn across the gesso it leaves particles behind, much like when you scuff your ring in a white wall, meaning the drawing is actually made of silver. It is a very delicate process as mistakes cannot be rectified and the drawing is built up over many layers of silver. Castle Bravo was the United States' first Hydrogen bomb. It was the most powerful nuclear device ever detonated by them. I'm aiming for a quiet sense of unease, to harness the beauty of the media, capturing ginormous fleeting moments of horror in a consuming & meticulous way.
