Awosting Falls, Minnewaska State Park, NY, 2014, 30” x 24”, Oil Pastel on Canson Paper, 2022 In this series I depict natural places in our world that are difficult to get to and are visited by few. As an escape from the busy city, I tirelessly drive, fly and/or hike to these pristine locations. When I return to the studio, I sort through my images searching for those dreamlike moments - the ones that I really couldn’t believe I was seeing with my own two eyes. From there, I share the work with an audience sparking conversations about my experience and the environment as well as the people and culture surrounding them.
