About The Artwork
The addition of unexpected textures and media in my work pushes the boundary between two dimensional art and a tactile experience. Contentment and gratitude are central themes throughout my work and life, and my family is my most grounding source. My mother is an avid quilter and my paternal grandmother a constant knitter. I have countless memories of my time spent exploring fabric and fiber stores with them as a child as I ran my hands along the endless bolts of luxe textiles. In addition to encouraging all of my creative interests, they passed their love of fiber arts on to me. The layering of various textiles into my work is a nod to them and a means of combining my two favorite artforms in an unexpected way.

Originally from Kansas City, I grew up in a loud and passionate family that taught me self-expression as a basic instinct and necessity to get a word in at the dinner table.
