WOW! Collage

Wow is one of my favourite words. A simple three letter exclamation that alone contains a power in its simplicity. The beauty of the ellipses and curves of the O and the strong, powerful lines of the W's together of course with an exclamation mark and black shadow, make this word stand out on its own anywhere. I selected to paste the letters on top of torn posters from the streets of Brighton, England to give the contrast even greater effect. The 'noise' of the background surface can be seen as a metaphor for the speed and restlessness of daily life and then alone and in serenity sits the clarity and simplicity of a single thought or in this case, a word. This multi media piece is set on wooden board for stability and this eye-catching, vibrant and joyous piece gives off a power wherever it is placed. WOW!
