The artwork was made under the impression of the famous photo taken during the operation. In the photograph, a surgeon has made an incision in the abdomen of a pregnant woman, and an incredibly tiny hand protrudes from there, which seems to be reaching for the surgeon's hand. The photo is very powerful and makes one wonder. We, people, begin to feel immortal, because inside us is a whole world, knowledge, creativity and anything else. Whereas all this is possible only while the heart is beating and pushing blood through the vessels, but it is only a few minutes to stop this process and the world that was a person turns to dust. Involuntarily, you wonder where the energy of the human personality goes? Does it dissolve and leave forever, or can it at least partially pass into another person, for example, into a newly born one? The work uses a collage element: all the details are pre-drawn, cut, and composited, after which more painting is added on the top of all layers. At the request of the customer, the artwork can be framed in a wooden frame under plexiglass, with hanging equipment.

My name is Natalia Andrushaewa. I am an artist. I was lucky and realized in early childhood that drawing is the main way of expressing my thoughts, so I have been doing this for about my whole life. Experts define my style as dark surrealism, but I consider myself a symbolist. I draw inspiration from Death, lucid dreams, mythology and vintage photos.
