Mourning Electra Collage

Electra’s Mother wailing in despair, her mouth multiplied fragmented and distorted in pain and her eyes duplicated in double vision. The cubes of paper the image has been made up from resembles small plasters as if covering the wounds of her mutability. A greek tragedy that plays upon freudian anaysis of the Odipus and Electra complex. The electra complex and the oedipus complex are played out within the modern Greek tragedy of the play ‘Mourning becomes Electra’ 1955 whereby the past and present collide in the image of a woman presenting her inner emotional turmoil.
