Milano Collage

After visiting Milan two years ago I found myself in the Piazza Firenze and the San Siro areas joyfully ripping street posters wherever I went. The culmination of some of those walks is this piece of artwork. The power of the colour red always draws me to it and combined with messages, headlines, information and type it is a special piece of art to me especially as it also reflects the colours of AC Milan, whom I watched that afternoon in the San Siro area of Milan against Napoli. Surface texture, typography, colour all assembled together form a hypnotic scream of tension on the canvas. Each piece placed exactly where it fits in an organic rhythm which I am but a helper. I hope this piece of art evokes some of the vibrancy and excitement I felt whilst making it.
