31 Passion Collage

The themes here are the colour blue and the use of numerical dates torn from different Italian city posters. When making this piece, the different segments of posters always fall into the correct place. I get a feeling as the artwork is being composed exactly how and where each torn section should go and thus I work purely on instinct. I stand back at the end utterly amazed at what has developed in front of me. After pulling posters from walls and billboards it is often revealed later that the layers underneath and in particular in this case show information dating from as long back as December 2015. '31 Passion' is mounted on wooden board to give the fragile paper some stability and I'm sure the viewer will absorb and understand the beauty of colour and type and the dynamism the tears and surface texture provide.
