Urban Realty, the follow-up to Ed Freeman's widely seen Desert Realty series, is a sometimes critical, sometimes sympathetic, always appreciative look at our very unnatural urban environment, seen through the eyes of photography and the intensifying power of computer manipulation. Desert Realty has been showcased in a book published by Chronicle Books, in museums and galleries across the country and in dozens of print magazines and on-line blogs. Urban Realty, its successor, is starting down the same path, with major gallery and one-man museum shows already under its belt. These iconic images hover in the undefined space between realistic photography and fanciful digital art.
