Flat Cities and Urban Lines: Flat Cities

The Flat City project project interrogates the distinction between painting and photography. It examines how we read what we see in the world - especially color, light, and space - by focussing closely on collections of buildings in urban spaces. Lines have been carefully squared and adjusted so that many more surfaces are seen as head-on than is actually possible in one moment. The three dimensional world becomes abstracted and flattened, almost like a collage, within the single photograph.
