Bodies In Rust

Archival pigment print of handprinted 120mm colour film in London | 2020 Burdon’s series of colour and black and white film photographs, Bodies in Rust, depicts a constructed fantasy world full of blurred motion, sculptural bodies, and mythic poses that create optical illusions meant to destabilize, distort, and challenge our perceptions. Working in collaboration with two dancers from Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, Max Cookward and Magnus Westwell, Burdon captures their continuous movement through a combination of fast and slow shutter speeds to blur the lines between the two as their bodies intimately combine and absorb into each other.
