Interlaced

This collection explores decorative patterns in textiles, from the intricacies of lace to the beautiful simplicity of a woven basket. Jennifer has always been fascinated by the human need to create pattern and ornamentation. A compulsion perhaps to construct order from chaos, the same designs are repeated all over the world. As one of the oldest art forms, every civilization has a textiles history. These works play homage to this tradition through the exploration of the rich diversity of patterns humans produce and reinterpret. Continuity too threads through the long line of weavers within Jennifer's maternal family. It is a practice that links both generations and cultures.
