Lace - Textile

Works of lace, rather than works on paper, yet the process is akin to drawing. Here, the needle of the sewing machine acts as a stationary pencil, the thread substitutes for graphite, and the artist moves the "paper" rather than the pencil to create imagery. This process is called free motion embroidery and the artists utilizes it to create her unique, detail-rich lace that begs the viewer to come in for a closer look.
