Glastonbury Paintings
This series features places and sets that Evie witnessed attending Glastonbury festival. Evie applies her distinct emotional blend of colour and indexical brushwork to evoke memories of these moments.
“I wanted to capture the imaginary worlds that were built for me at Glastonbury when I was there; from dark oceans of crowds at night swaying beneath far-away light-house lights of the pyramid stage to cavernous west holts stage aglow with firelight from within. I have tried to imbue in each piece a distinct moment evoked by the music I heard. These worlds throb and roar; they climb and soar; they drift and dissipate. The music moved me, like everyone else, and still moves me now, and I hope these paintings have kept alive that movement.”
