Floral Poetry

The series Floral Poetry maybe shows best the reason I keep on painting flowers, it’s because they speak to me. They are shouting ‘I’m alive’! No holding back, giving all there is, shining and showing, bright and proud. Painting them is a pure expression of love, and I guess this series could have also be named love letters to myself. Because it’s out of pure personal bliss these portraits arise. I feel no need to display them exactly, but they are always the reason for the canvas. Sometimes they turn into abstract color stripes, other times you can still clearly recognize their faces. They tell their own legend. You can keep on seeing new hidden stories getting revealed in these paintings.
