Cool Kids (instadentity) – An art series created surrounding the insufferable attempt at identifying ourselves in the glutinous and ravenous milieu of the social media main stream. We are a culture feeding our souls to the consumerist assembly-line black hole conglomerate that devours our very being. Questioning the influence of pop culture influence on society is not an innovative concept; however, it begs to be explored given the insurmountable and ever-changing social media monster that we currently face. The series embodies little other than what contemporary art can represent, while exhibiting stylistic unity, illuminating the complicated negotiations facing personal identity in today’s current societal climate.
