Insects

This mixed media paintings explores the complex nature of insects and nature. These works show mostly a pair of insects facing against each other in a background of wild florals and expressive colour against more muted tones. The backgrounds are made of delicate tones of antique white, pale and shiny tones of black, gold and pinks. Each work in this series has been painstakingly made up with both opaque and translucent layers, gold leaf details and subtle textures that gives an irreverent edge to the works, they are bold and seductive embedded with complex emotion.
