Marine Majesty was born from my visit to the Smithsonian Museum’s Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef exhibit, which captivated me with its stunning colors, textures, and natural forms. Growing up near the beach, it rekindled joyful moments from my childhood. Creating every piece of the coral reef filled me with joy, and I aimed to spread that feeling. I began crafting crochet octopuses as acts of kindness, and now thousands of them have reached people worldwide, transforming and warming their hearts. In a world dominated by technology, I still value tangible, real-world experiences. My goal is to share the same joy and childlike wonder I found when I first explored the crochet coral reef. This artwork is displayed in a large, round fish bowl and is meant to sit on a table or shelf. Please contact me if you are interested in commission work of any size or shape.

I am a 3D soft sculpture artist best known for crochet coral reef aquariums. My artwork is made up of coral, sea creatures and plants of all sizes, shapes, colors and textures. The inspiration for my work came from the Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef at the Smithsonian Museum. I am constantly drawing inspiration from organic shapes that are found in nature and in the ocean’s coral reefs. While living in a technology-driven world, I believe it is still important to have tactile, real world experiences. I want to share the sense of joy and childlike wonder that I felt as I explored the crochet coral reef for the first time.
