Clay sculpture with integrated metal and wood , painted with acrylic and patinated. 65cm high, 33cm wide, 45cm deep. The story of Icarus is one of those legends of Greek mythology that fascinates audiences especially because of the character’s desire to go beyond human boundaries as well as for the tragic consequences this brought about. The myth of Daedalus and Icarus tells the story of a father and a son who used wings to escape from the island of Crete. Icarus has become better-known as the flyer who fell from the sky when the wax that joined his wings was melted by the heat of the sun.

Hi my name is Elena , i am an artist and choreographer living in Kiel . I masterfully combine figurative , floral ,portret and animals painting. In Kiel I am the owner of two dance schools and my artwork is inspired by my passion for dancing, merging the charm and grace of a dancer, thus giving the paintings a very special, very sensual touch. In addition, through years of experience with body control as well as an expert´s view for body language, both which I acquired in the long years as a trainer, choreographer and dancer myself, I breathe life into my paintings in a highly artistic way. When I finish a painting, I am ready for it to find its new home. I have had my time in creation and development, and when it’s finished, my time with it is over, and I know it was created for someone else’s enjoyment. I love what I do. I love creating artwork, and I’m proud of the images I create. Beautiful, meaningful images that speak to individuals as much as they spoke to me.
