I am interested in the mystery of perception and in the ongoing pendulum swing between inward and outward, past and present. In this work I attempted to seduce the viewer into the painting, to draw us in this vast open landscape, and make us feel this place where water, earth, wind and the fire of the sun meet. But at the same time I tried to push us back out again, directing us in an “in between” space which could allow us to be a bit more observational and objective as we watch a story unfold. The figures within the confinement of the secondary frame can reflect their state of isolation from what is happening in the scene. “Land’s edge symphony” endeavours to awaken our senses, stimulate our thoughts and arouse our curiosity. Can we recognise the splendour of an ancestral creation or are we limited by our own narrative and perception ? Can our visions ever be shared ?

Australia
I was born in 1986 in Montpellier, France. Straight after university, i embarked on an adventure and left France. Spent about 9 years in Australia. In 2016, I decided to return to my native country to study the old masters and to dedicate myself to painting. I am now back in Australia, a full-time painter living and working in Melbourne area. I have crossed paths with great artists who have greatly influenced my work, such as the sculptor Éric Chatalin and the painter Nushka. What is the aim of my artworks? I never set out to create a particular response from the viewer, it is definitely out of my control. However, if for a moment, anyone feels at the sight of one of my paintings time is slowed down then It would be the ultimate dream for me. I like to think that people can escape through my paintings. Contemporary life offers very little respite. Painting can be a cure: by slowing down time and creating connections between people, sharing experiences. Today I am exploring the structure of figuration, between realism and abstraction, I seek the necessary balance for a painting to exist by itself, no need for interpretation or meaning. It's a sensory experience, it is alive, and I am definitely, for life.
