About

Artist Statement

As an artist, I like working in series. This method allows for a broad range of possibilities and for intuitive and personal results. The vocabulary of shape, color and texture is essential to the overall process and guides the compositional development of the series.

Architecture, chemistry, story telling, Nature, History, are some of the subjects that interest me and use in my work.

Growing up in Europe, I was surrounded by old architecture and watched how time transforms and impacts all man made things. Surfaces are distressed and colors are broken up in random patterns. Memory has distilled those images and now it all resurfaces in my work.

I have been living in the North West for the last 23 years, and I have come to love how the weather covers and at the same time reveals the lusciousness of nature. Here nature continuously and mysteriously transforms itself. From my studio window I can look at the constant rearranging. It seeps into my work. It’s all alchemy to me.
