Magicians we become and materials become our wand! Creating seemingly imaginary worlds with alchemy, we transform and transubstantiate what we know, striving to embrace reality through alternative paths.

Initially, figures are dominant. The original forms came from observing body types and characteristics of other kinds, completely unknown. I replaced them with people strongly bonded with me from whom I erased all individuality. Their bodies were turned into a blank platter, free from even vague familiarity.

The result is an unidentifiable, transparent human being deprived, almost drained from every distinct feature. However, our intimate relationship makes me treat the figures with awe and respect.

The models, as if actors, transform into something different, perhaps even alien to their nature. They function as intermediaries; their individual components reside or cease to exist according to the needs of each role. They focus on the apparent and the concealed, the everyday and the unusual, on spaces and places in-between fantasy and reality.

In the later works, figures become absent, substituted by elements that all at the same time and each one individually, question our rites of passage in time and space; beds that turn into nested forests and heroes awaiting for their metamorphosis; domination of the inapprehensible fascinates and terrifies; trees with magical roots and fruits, with messages, wishes and hope; intermediate spaces for those who are gone and those that have not yet come to existence.
