During the Sixties, I was a follower of Piero Lucano, a prominent Trieste’s artist of the first half XXth century.
In 1993, after a long period of discontinuity in my working, I moved to France where I resumed painting full time, participating to some group exhibits in Paris and Nice.
In 2003 I came back to Italy and settles in an atelier in Trieste, where at present I work.

Statement about the foundations of my artistic research.
My work concerns the problem of representation of what cannot be represented.
The painting "How?” Sold to Farsetti of Prato in 2005, contained this inscription, in which I stated explicitly the program and the direction of my work: "How to make people see what it's impossible to see?” Moreover, as Jean-François Lyotard, I’m fully aware that the issue at stake in modern art is to show that there is anything we can conceive but we cannot reproduce in a visible form. Unlike Lyotard, however, I’m convinced that the research on this road does not belong - a priori and exclusively - to the abstract (that is, the formless), but may be carried out successfully by operating on the side of the figuration. Provided that, in “this painting of the sublime”, the figures are dematerialized to lose their representational content.
Brief description of the method.
The works uploaded, but, more generally, my artistic research has, as a point of origin, the photography. It follows that, contrary to appearances, my work is completely alien to the traditional process of the figuration, designed to translate the real - as well as possibly observed or taken from memory - on the two-dimensional surface of the canvas. I have no interest in reality. My concern is, instead, concentrate on the image (actually two-dimensional) arising from the photo shoot that - after the extreme exposure values - I carry on the canvas in exaggerated proportions, and often in a single detail. This enables me to develop a paint in which the shape, on the one hand, is characterized by the intrinsic rigidity of the instant shoot and, secondly, has a degree of recognition that varies depending on the specific balance of each individual work. To accentuate the separation of form from realistic fiction, and to clear all known expression (subjective), I use the basic medium as lean and poor as possible, eliminating, in this way the value of the stroke. Finally, the scratches on the funds still fresh of the canvas and the networks (in some cases the filaments) superimposed to the figures, are, in the order, the starting and final way of contamination of the form by the conceptual and metaphysical dimension to which the form itself is subordinate, according to my research on the painting of the unrepresentable.
