Tinsel Edwards

About

Tinsel Edwards lives and works in East London. She was born in Leamington Spa, 1979.

The themes in Tinsel’s work are varied, with a combination of emotive and personal elements and a strong desire to highlight social and cultural issues.

“I am interested in and romanticise about the idea of protest, I’m inspired by the spirit of punk, rebellion and grassroot movements. In some parts of my practice I explore subjects such as the effects of consumerism and the wealth divide, in others I look closely at our emotions, our desires, hopes and fears as individuals. My recent work explores the transience of life and the human condition"
