Ti-An DeMartines is a Toronto-based visual artist working primarily in painting and photography. In 2008, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University, her studies primarily focused on exploring landscape, as well as issues with gender and technology in drawing, painting, photography, and digital art.
Ti-An’s artistic interests spread across the board, and she enjoys experimenting with a variety of mediums and subject matter. She rarely creates a body of work that is thematically consistent, and instead treats every single piece as a unique, autonomous ‘individual’ that is a reflection of her passions and emotions at the time of creation. This allows Ti-An’s artistic practice to remain fluid and very versatile.
Ti-An’s career focus is not restricted to art making- she has educated children in art for two years and is currently pursuing a college diploma in holistic nutrition. She hopes to incorporate all of her interests into what will most likely be multiple career paths.
