Tayana Stepanova is a Russian born artist who lives and works in Bridgeport, CT, USA. Her art integrates various styles to serve her goals of expression - Conceptualism, Figuration, Pop, Minimalism and Abstraction are among them. Art critic Lisa Paul Streitfeld wrote about Stepanovas works in NY Arts magazine "The raw edges, lucidity and commanding scale of Stepanova's paintings invite the viewer into a renewed ideal of human interconnectedness with the cosmos". She received art education at Pushkin Museum of Art, Moscow, and at Westminster University, London, UK where she took classes with Cecil Collins - a revered art teacher and artist whose paintings are in the Tate. She taught History of Russian Art at the City Literary Institute in London, UK. Her first exhibitions were in Moscow Gallery A3 and in an ancient city near Moscow - Yaroslavl, at the Museum of Art followed by a solo exhibition at Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Stepanova's works are in the collections of Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Yaroslavl Art Museum, the headquarters of Dialog of Art Magazine (DI), and private collections in Russia, UK and US."
