I live in Tasmania, which is about as far away as you can get from everywhere else, and spend as much time as possible in the wilderness – primeval forests are good for the soul. Landscape here is old and weathered and rugged with plenty of rocky mountains and mysterious valleys. Both the scenery and history get described as gothic quite regularly, so that's what I paint. Tasmanian Gothic.
