I am an assemblage artist who uses mixed media, found objects, and handmade oddities to portray my never ending curiosity of human behavior.
We affect without always being aware.
My work aims to raise awareness.
I typically build the wood constructions by hand, tailoring each piece according to the story it tells.
Some of my pieces focus attention on a singular theme, creating a symbolic portrait of the idea. Others have separate sections, a reference to comic book storytelling, where each section is part of a bigger story.
Images and text become symbolic and not literal. Found objects lend history and evoke the passage of time. Toys represent collective childhood memories and archetypes that connect us. I tell a story to promote change in the negative and encourage the positive, with a little humor thrown in for good measure.
