Artist Statement

The subject matters of my art reflect personal experience and modern culture. They have to do with ideas, concepts and even objects, from comments on society to portrayals of the material world around me-- everything is valid. I always attempt to explore and incorporate things that I admire and have never made art about before. If necessary, I adopt new techniques or styles when I believe they will help me communicate my ideas. I find the results of these experiments intriguing.

Having a consistent style is not important to me. Why commit to anything when possibilities are limitless? True freedom of expression is paramount; rules only limit and confine. Perhaps this approach is a completely selfish act, but the process of having an idea, finding the right format and materials to convey it, and then exploring the possibilities of creating it-- this is my journey, one that affords me the opportunity to maintain awareness and balance in my daily life.
