About

Steven Castledine was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and is based in London UK. I work with digital imagery, mixed paint media, drawing, collage and digital painting.
Location
London, United Kingdom
Work
I am strongly influenced by abstract expressionism, Japanese aesthetics and street imagery. My work explores memory, landscape, sense of place and reflections and shadows. My photographs investigate street imagery and wall art and posters, including fragmented images that have been worn down over time and subjected to the elements. My paintings are abstract and are mostly mixed media (specifically oil and acrylic and watercolour) - I work into the surface to create a layered history or story. Read More
