M A R I A is originally from Norway but currently living in the UK.

Maria's artwork is based on carefully staged photographic scenes where she controls all elements within the image to create narratives, which express and explore emotions and ideas, mostly using herself as a model.

Besides being an artist Maria is a Social Anthropologist and her work is greatly influenced by her interest in people as cultural beings and the interaction between people and their environment.

Maria has exhibited her work internationally. Over the last year her work has been selected by curators and judges from the Art Takes Miami, Creekside Open London, Photo Fusion Gallery London, Juvenarte Gallery Ramfjord Oslo, The Centre for Fine Art Photograpy US, The Print Space Gallery London, London Photographic Association and several curators here on the Saatchi Online Gallery.
