Shawn Higgins is a Los Angeles based artist originally from Ohio.After watching Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure in 1989,he decided that he wanted to live and die in Southern California. Dreaming of beach babes and motorcycles, Shawn moved to Los Angeles after studying painting and industrial design at Miami University and The Daap Program at University of Cincinnati.Since moving to Echo Park, miles from downtown Los Angeles, he has been inspired by both the absurd and the ordinary. He likes to challenge himself by using tools unfamiliar to him and use methods that seem to contrast his sensibilities.With one foot in the fashion industry, and the other in the art world, he is bridging gaps between the fine arts and popular culture.Shawn is interested in subculture, pop culture, vintage comics, marinated meats, bikes, bums, short shorts, pattern, and frisbee golf.
