1936 Stockport, Cheshire. Began painting 2002 as a retiree. I am committed to representational, realistic art, concentrating on landscapes and 'vignettes of Nature'. I am inspired primarily by a lifetime of travel so icebergs in the Arctic to tropical paintings are all equally attractive subjects. Although I specialize in realism, I am not a photo-realist in that I copy every single minute detail. My creative process begins with my camera - framing the photographs I use for reference in order to achieve the perfect composition, depth and perspective. After that, I use the photograph(s)to position the main elements of the picture onto the canvas or board. I then make the picture my own through the use of colour and own unique menthod of detailing.

I am a self-taught artist painting in acrylics. First exhibited in at the North Norfolk Art Centre in 2002. Was a finalist in the EAC Nationwide art competition in the same year and had a work hung in the Mall Galleries. Again a finalist in the same competition in 2003 and hung in the British Design Centre, and again in 2009 exhibited at the Bankside Gallery in London.
