I was born in New Jersey in the 50s. My Mom took a correspondence course in art history while I was still at home as a pre-schooler. From Michelangelo to Dali, those big color plates and books full of prints had an enormous impact on my little mind. When I found out I could draw well, I knew I was destined to be an artist.
I've taken a circuitous path through surrealism, representational commissioned portraiture, cubism, my late-Kandinsky-inspired period. Then came poured expressionistic paintings and I am currently focusing on textured colorfield abstractions in acrylic. Through the years my main painting mediums have moved from pastels to oils to acrylics.
Today I’m fully exploring the potentials of acrylics with textures, layers of glazes and combinations of surfaces with matte and gloss, warm and cool colors, hard and soft edges and dramatic, exciting compositions.
