Rob Mohr is a professional painter (artist) who has had numerous one-man-shows and has won a variety of awards for his paintings, drawings, and collages. After painting as a NY artist, Rob lived and worked in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, and Guatemala. His current work is strongly influenced by the spiritual understandings of the Mayan and Quechua peoples. His works form a valuable part of many private and public collections. Rob has served as the Director of the Savannah Art Association, was an artist in residence at the University of Georgia, and taught painting at the University of South Carolina and Western Carolina University.
Poetically, social reality mixes with the natural and spiritual. My paintings are poetic reflections on the natural world, social reality, and the spiritual interaction between these worlds. Paintings must become thin places where the viewer is enabled to move between worlds. Rob Mohr has a MFA, and teaches Painting, Drawing and Poetry at the university level. Mohr has also completed a DMin degree in spirituality. The artist is fluent in English and Spanish.,
