It is about color and surface.

Trying and probing mixed techniques of egg tempera and oil on point, line, and plane, on groundings and printing methods lead me to solutions to depict animals and humans.

In series of animals, single figures, groups of persons, and pictures of heads, I am alternating between painting and printing, especially monotype printing. By breaking and dissolving the brush stroke, a monotype introduces some distance. Thereby, for me, the monotype is in between the spontaneity of drawing and the remote process of printing. I like that it can be achieved without advanced technical equipment.
