About

I was born in Hull,England in 1962 but currently live in Canada.

My art is largely an exploration of "surreal" or fantastic imagery that is derived from my imagination, though strongly rooted in a naturalistic presentation. I abhore cliches and my goal is to bring the viewer challenging and engaging images that are rendered with extremely high technical standards. I want to connect with the viewer in such a way that they can, based their own life experiences, have a unique relationship with the work.

Education
In terms of technique and my investigations in visual art, I am largely self taught but do have a university level grounding in all the usual theoretical, migraine inducing stuff too. I have worked as an illustrator for a number of authors, including Clive Barker, Poppy Brite, and China Mieville. Recently, I have focused my attention and deepened my committment to my personal work, a process that has been extremely satisfying.
I have work in many private collections in North America and Europe. Through the Strychnin Gallery I have recently had work in the Berlin Kunstsalon and the "Arcanum" show at the Strychnin NYC gallery in New York. In April of 2007 I will be having a 2 man show in Berlin at the Strychnin Gallery.,
