Bulgarian artist Ilian Savkov is inspired by the freedom of expression and spontaneous application of paint found in abstract art. He describes this depiction of two dogs as "a metaphor of frustration from aggression" and it certainly seems to quite literally capture the underdog. When he's not painting, Ilian is an editorial cartoonist for Standart Bulgaria, the country's main daily newspaper, for which he has won numerous awards. He has had solo shows in the UK, Poland and Bulgaria and his paintings are in private and public collections in the UK, USA, Japan, Serbia, Turkey, Italy and Bulgaria.
