About

Mel Armstrong, born in Rotherham, studied fine art at Sheffield Hallam University.

My work is usually anthropomorphic in nature and illustrative in style. I have always enjoyed observing everyday life and drawing animals, which combined, provide enormous inspiration. My current favoured medium is ink on canvas.

I’ve been influenced by the beautiful work of Ralph Steadman, the amazing Goya, plus Rob Ryan and many others.
